Odd Interactions
In November 2023, we joined D*sign week to explore the topic of Odd Interactions through prototyping artifacts.
We started with a trip to the flea market where we selected several (electronic) objects with various degrees of leftover functionality. The aim of the workshop was to redesign those objects into Odd devices. Odd Interactions served as an ideation technique that allowed participants to imagine alternative uses of the device.
Some examples included a kinky device designed to be more accessible for use (by Sofia), a mask with brainwave technology and an artificial mouth that communicates with our lunch partner while we eat (by Emma Silvana), a brain heater (by Thomas K.), or a fly communication device (by Thomas P.).
