Sensadjust is a speculative future company that offers each individual an enhancement of their primary senses. Through gene editing, our sense receptors for taste, smell, sight, and hearing are manipulated to offer a wider range of sensitivity. The user's current sensitivity level is always taken as the reference middle point, around which the adjustments for less and more sensitivity are arranged. The implemented face interface allows users to control each sense in real-time and adjust them as often as desired.

The project shows a promotional campaign of Sensadjust, where the company presents an interactive installation for potential users to try out the enhancement before committing to the procedure. The installation provides an example of Taste-adjust. A puppet's face offers people a chance to interact and get a better sense of the look and feel of the implemented interface. The food sample they receive, based on the taste level they chose, closely relates to the final outcome the procedure of taste adjustment can offer. Together, the two aspects present a clearer picture of what potential users can expect from the enhancement of their senses.

The project was exhibited at the Hedonistika festival 2022 in Linz. The public setting allowed for an observational study where we collected all the successful (and unsuccessful) interactions with a face interface, as well as the likelihood people expressed of ever wanting to interact with their own faces and bodies in this way. This provided valuable insights into what people would expect from future skin interfaces, but it could also be extended to interacting with wearables and smart textiles already today.
